My rhinoplasty was done in 2015 by Mr Taimur Shoaib, so I have had a long time to reflect on the overall process. Consultation period: All good, everything explained well, friendly staff. A bit slow to respond to emails but not a major issue. Day of the surgery: Excellent. All was clearly explained, and I felt comfortable and at ease. Comfortable waiting area, good food and a taxi home was provided. Post-surgery: The healing process went well, with minimal pain and clear instructions. When it was time to remove the bandages, Mr Shoaib was unavailable so I saw the anaesthetist from the day of the surgery. I had a few questions but was advised that I should wait until the post-op review to (scheduled for 3 months later) since my nose would change over the next few months and to ask the surgeon himself. Post-operative appointment: Not good. They were running late with visits and when I was seen it was extremely rushed. This was because Mr Shoaib had a flight to catch to visit another clinic. Any queries about my nose were just answered with 'it's too soon to tell, it takes a year to see results', and things of this sort. Results of the rhinoplasty: I waited a long time to see how my nose would heal. Positives - It was definitely much smaller and shorter than before, the length of my nose being the main thing I had wanted to change. No problems breathing or with sense of smell, and no scarring either. Negatives - I was left with a bone callus about one third down my nose. It may only be a small bump but of course to me it is incredibly frustrating, my nose may have been big before but had no bump like this. From the side is the worst part, as it completely ruins a straight profile. From the front depending on how the light hits it can make my entire nose look crooked. I now get rhinofiller every year to try to improve this issue. Additionally, my septum is now deviated, it doesn't impact my breathing but on one side my septum is clearly hanging out. Aesthetically this is less of a problem since it can only be seen from below, but it is annoying considering my nostrils were perfectly symmetrical before. As recently as early 2019 I was in touch with Berkeley Square Medical as these things were bothering me. Understandably my issues are considered 'minor' as far as outcome of the surgery goes. I always understood this and made it clear I would be willing to pay for further treatments/surgeries to resolve these issues. They may not be major but honestly some people might consider their first rhinoplasty for these alone. My 'after' pictures are a clear improvement on my nose from before, but it cannot be said that the nose in those after pictures is nice, nor small, straight, or symmetrical. Unfortunately, I was not pleased with the response I received from the team in the years following the surgery when I raised these concerns. I was invited to a post-operative review where the person I met listened attentively and seemed quite positive about potential solutions, however didn't propose anything concrete - this would come from Mr. Shoaib once he had reviewed my notes and report. I had to continue emailing back and forth where essentially all my concerns were dismissed, any hope of further improving my nose were dashed, and I feel I was spoken to quite patronisingly. I was just told I should go and get a second opinion elsewhere, something at the time I had no money to do as consultations are not free. Now in 2020 I have decided that I can make peace with my nose and just get filler to try and hide the bump, without having a second rhinoplasty. This would be the preferred option, but I am unfortunately in no financial position to consider it. I spent the years following the surgery hating my nose to be honest, and I still do not like it at all. Overall: I do not regret having surgery, my nose looks better than it did before, which is the whole point. I do regret having spent so much money on a Harley Street surgery to end up with several imperfections. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but then again, I am not delusional and can see that my nose has plenty of flaws. The fact I had rhinoplasty is not something I would keep secret from others; however, I do not tell anyone because I know that people would look at it and consider it a bad job. Of course, if they saw my nose before they would see the improvement, but as it stands my nose is not what you would call a 'nice nose'. I expected better service from a highly rated clinic, waste of money as well.

Dr Shoaib is a fantastic plastic surgeon, from the initial consultation we discussed the procedure I wished to have, and he is realistic with you about your expectations if this is achievable or not. I decided to go ahead and I was not left disappointed. You can not even see a scar his work is that good. Throughout the procedure his team put my mind at ease, and that evening a nurse called to make sure my recovery was going well. Post Op appointments were again professional and friendly. Such a great team working along side him. I had a follow up appointment with Dr Shoaib 6 weeks later, and I spoke of how happy I was about the results. Would not hesitate to contact him in the future.

I had breast augmentation surgery with Dr Shoaib 4 years ago. At the consultation he listened to what I was unhappy with about my breasts and what I hoped to achieve from having surgery. He explained realistically what kind of result I could achieve from having implants. I was over the moon with my result, it exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately I had capsular contracture 3 years later so needed review surgery. This is a complication of having breast surgery which you are made aware of at your consultation. I think how a surgeon deals with a complication speaks volumes. Dr Shoaib is a compassionate and caring surgeon, I have always felt very safe and at ease under his care. He is a fantastic surgeon. Everyone I have communicated with at La Belle Forme has been warm and very helpful. I can't recommend Dr Shoaib and his team highly enough.

Mr Shoaib is a lovely man, very easy to talk to and brilliant at his job. I had a couple of breast augmentation issues from previous surgeries elsewhere, he listened to my concerns & problems and performed a very successful operation giving me a great result. I would highly recommend him.

Mr Shoaib was recommended to me as the best surgeon available for eyelid surgery and I approached him in November for a consultation. I immediately felt at ease and confident that I could trust him; he explained what he would need to do and what the recovery timelines would be; he was very honest about what was needed given the extent of the excess skin on my upper eyelids. The operation was booked for 11th December and I felt calm and reassured throughout; it took under 30 minutes for the procedure to be completed. Mr Shoaib explained what was happening as the procedure progressed and the two nurses attending to me kept me talking and distracted; there was a level of discomfort at some points but absolutely no pain on my part. Stitches and plasters were removed 8 days later and the improvement was immediately visible. At my check up 6 weeks later with Mr Shoaib we were both delighted with the results. I cannot believe the difference it has made to me; I can now enjoy wearing eye make-up again and my eyes look wide and younger, no longer old and tired. Very happy- only wish I had done it sooner!
